Residential Building Design

Infinity Apartment Building Nov-Dec'10

The project is a residential apartment building in an intricate, green location next to the river Danube. The building houses 6 luxurious apartments. My inspiration grew out of the idea of being smoothly integrated into nature, the purpose was to allow a certain freedom and a conceptual infinity in its shape, thus trying to avoid corners and sharp edges, the main  determination  was to provide a continuous view. The façade adapts the environment through the combination of the reflective skin and organic timber elements.

BSc Studies at The University of Technology and Economics of Budapest (BME)

I received explicit education in the architectural engineering programme and developed notable technical and artistic skills. Completing the BSc programme in Hungary established my first foreign experience. Studying in an international environment helped me develop multicultural team collaboration skills. I learned to appreciate the advantages of diversification.

Public Building Design

Art School Esztergom Feb-May’11

The project represents the design of an Art School in the historical city of Esztergom. The three main functions: schooling, exhibition.and leisure are essential in the design. The inner garden was crucial in the proposal, providing private space for outdoor actvities. Along with it a spacious display and performance room and the open library complementthe program. The Esztergom Art School was an individual project.

Industrial Building Design

Mineral Water Bottling Plant Sep-Dec’11

The project was an individual work. After taking the theoretical course of Architecture of Workplaces,

deliberately placed the most attention on the facade of the factory, a playful tetris like arrangement that is pleasant for the work envronment of the plant. The project is a design of a Mineral Water Bottling Plant. The task was to develop technical understanding of a plant’s functioning process and ensure an appropriate corresponding design.During the semester special attention was placed onto the technical aspects, norms and requirements.

The Season Boulevard Green Intervention. Bordian,Zarri, Sadeghi Feb-May’12

The  goal of the project was to redefine the  public space system of an existing densely developed urban tissue with emphasis on providing new spaces for the existing  community. The specified area is distinctive as the proportion of green spaces per person constitutes only 0,3 square meters  while the goal of the city is summed up to 7m2,thus our proposal envisioned a substantial green intervention. After the thorough analysis of the district the action area was delimited to one street. In the design we segmentated it in 4 sectors according to our seasonal concept. For each segment we planned a new function tangled with green amplification  for the local community.

Urban Design

Urban Development  Bordian,Vassal  Feb-May’12

The goal of the project was to provide a new high quality residential environment in a  densely built tissue. The focus was on sustainable urban renewal of historical blocks of Pest. The design was organized around the chess concept, related to the ortogonal structure of the district itself. The given block's envelope is constituted from typical courtyard buildings, while the core of tthe plot is a former industrial zone.

The aim was to keep the external skin of the block preserved and remove the back part of the buildings in order to open up the courtyards and provide a better quality of living. the industrial core was redesigned to  house new residential units: family house duplexes and apartment buildings.Community gardens and private gardens were arranged according to the planned chess system.

Department Design 2

Space, Light, Texture  Interior  Sep-Dec ‘12

The Sky Bar Observatory was  an individual project

In the 1st part of the semester the task was to elaborate 3 models with the idea of space in mind, consequently 3 variations of the initial models were made by cutting out openings and letting light through. The final stage was the  experiment with textures. In the next stage one single model was selected and offered various  function ideas. The purpose of the 2nd exercise was to establish a fitting function and design the interior of it.The focus was on themodel’s expressiveness. The interior was thought for the youth of the high class society. The function of recreation ruled the idea an inspired a high tech atmosphere with back lights and led furniture.

Complex Design

Sanctuary of Light  Sep.-Dec.’12

Sanctuary of Light is an invidual project realised durng the first semester of 2012/13.Located in the Palace district of  Budapest. The task of the project was to carry out a graphical and structural analysis of the surrounding area and propose a design program. The intention was to perform a sculptural building. The design was based on hand made model trials. My intention was to achieve a fitting gracefulness through  form, light shadow & texture in opposition with the historical background of the area.I’ve completed the project with conceptual sectios interior  visions, elevation studies.  I drew inspiration out of the cubist movement, and deconstructivism. The tower  like part of the building was inspired by the vision of a chandelier that takes in daylight and works as a projector in the night. The conceptual funtion of the space is experimental performance arena, the building is thought to be fully responsive to the artistic performance.

BSc Diploma

National Children' Orchestra of Hungary  Jan-Jun’13

The subject of my diploma was “Experimental Community Theatre” with the sub concept “Sanctuary of Light”. The project is a Children’s Orchestra Concert Hall design, situated in the heart of Budapest.

The NCOH is a place of music which  offers children a life changing experience of interaction with the world of acoustic harmony. The building as music lives in intensity, vivacity, commitment and functional professionalism. The vision of the project is to be the leading performing ground for young professional musicians, with the mission to identify, nurture and showcase musical excellence in children through attractive ambience design, fascinating interiors and high quality acoustical environment. In order to support the eagerness of youth performing music I challenged myself in the design of a concert hall which will house talents for the purpose of auditions, concerts, competitions and other events.

I based my design on the metaphor Auditorium-The heart of the Concert Hall. Intentionally I wanted to emphasize the separate function and designed a totally independent structure. The entity is a graphical stylization of a heart defragmented into triangles representing the multiple sides of creation and the diversity of the music world. The color scheme was chosen by keeping in mind the childish character of the users.

In my design I focused on the study of form and light in terms of different materials. The programme of the project was established for a small performing house with an auditorium of 150 seats. The assignment was interesting due to the intricate position of the plot, which is in the heart of Budapest’s 8th district, in the so-called Palace District. This area - homogenous, yet diverse - dominates the image of the capital. Here one can find the majority of the late 19th century Eclectic-Secessionist city-centre buildings, characteristic of Budapest. The neighbourhood is bursting with educational institutions, which provide a youngster audience as well making the environment very lively. The programme of the intended design will benefit the cultural environment and bring a fresh breeze of contemporary design. Technically it was a very challenging task, which I have solved in details up to 1:5 scale.
