ANASTASIA BORDIAN
THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WORK
About
My career ambition is to be an active participant of the architectural future today. After graduation I hope to work for an international architectural office. Innovative design and creativity are the work forces that inspire my vision of the world. With the appearance of new technologies great possibilities have emerged which push architecture to step up its game and respond with complex buildings and structures. I see the future of architecture in computer-aided workflows that would replace the traditional way with new dynamic aspects of design, construction and use.
Being a goal-oriented person I have always been highly motivated to strive for the best outcome, thus my academic performances have always been at top of expectations. I am a hard working plodding student and work for the realization of my ambitions. My dream is to build structures that would amaze and inspire generations. Ever since elementary school I was always in interaction with art. During the years of primary school I attended a fine arts specialized class and afterwards was enrolled in the ‘A. Schusev School of Art’ from which I graduated in June 2006 with a honourable 2nd degree diploma. Continuing my studies in the field, I undertook the superior contemporary art course taught by the head master of the school. Furthermore, later on I engaged myself into deepening my skills by attending the personal workshop of Ion Serbinov - national Master of Arts of Moldova - with whom I learned the gracefulness of water colouring. Besides that I successfully completed A-Levels courses and examination of the University of Cambridge at Advanced Level in the field of Arts & Design receiving a B(b) grade in November 2008.
In September 2009 I have started my studies at the University of Technology and Economics of Budapest at the faculty of Architecture and at the time I couldn’t have known ahead how close to my heart and my mind architecture will be. During the past three years I have discovered profoundly a new overwhelming world, a field that incorporates the beauty and technicality of art and science. I’ve learned that architecture is an incredibly inventive and very exciting arena but at the same time extremely demanding as if it is for doing it well, and perfection is what I stride for. During the years I was studying at BME I have received 2 scholarships and have been awarded the honourable diploma of best student of the academic year of 2010/2011. I have proven my skills both in design as much as in engineering subjects and this gives me determination to search for even better qualifications.
What always had a great matter in my work process was the source of inspiration. The unpredictable spring that generates the ideas. But soon I came to realize that the concept, though undeniably of great importance is merely the tip of the iceberg and a successful project depends on a multitude of various aspects that must be taken care of. I have always been fascinated by the exceptional designs, unconventional approaches and innovative ideas that require singular, uncommon solutions. How apparently impossible mind-blowing ideas are articulated and brought to life by means of ingenious thinking and professionalism. The process of design and the way distinctive features combine into a concept, which is developed into a thorough project are the notions that have most importance. Architects are always placed in the position of crucial decision-making and great responsibilities lay within.
